Wrist / Ankle Vacuum Splint

Single Deluxe Extremity Vacuum Splint sized for wrist, forearm and ankle injuries — patented Multi-Chamber System.

Built with the patented Multi-Chamber System: rather than the beads collecting on one side of the device, they are distributed equally across 4–5 chambers. A quick shake spreads the beads evenly before placing the splint on the patient, giving consistent moulding every time. X-ray translucent, MRI safe up to 3T, and machine-washable — the splint can stay on the patient from scene to imaging suite without interruption.

Application. No need to remove clothing. Confirm the valve is tightly closed, then fold the splint around the wrist/forearm/ankle — avoid moving the limb as much as possible — and fasten the Velcro. Attach the pump to the valve and suck air out until the splint becomes rigid. Keep pumping until no more air comes out; you cannot pump too much, only too little. Re-open the Velcro briefly to fine-tune the fit.

Spine-board pairing. When used with a Vacuum Spine Board or Vacuum Spine Immobilizer, apply this splint before placing the patient in the full-body device.

Removal. Open Velcro, then open the valve slowly — about four turns is enough. Do not remove the nozzle entirely unless you are replacing it.

Cleaning. Always close the valve before cleaning. Scrub blood or mucus with cold water before it dries, then wash with normal detergent in hot water; apply disinfectant per protocol. Machine-washable at 60 °C / 160 °F (cold cycle for biological fluids). Hang to dry.

Maintenance. Regularly verify the valve is functional and seated in the correct track.

CE marked, FDA cleared, manufactured under ISO 13485. PVC-free. X-ray translucent and MRI-safe up to 3T. Validated for use with the Med Tech Sweden Vacuum Cervical Collar, Vacuum Spine Board and the complete spinal support system.

Fast on wrists

Ski-patrol shifts — wrist fractures are our daily bread. Pump, mould, done in under a minute. Patient handed off to clinic with the splint still on.

Replaces SAM splints for us

Soft, conforms, X-ray translucent. No reason to keep aluminum splints in the kit anymore.

Forearm fit is genuine

Some "wrist" splints are too short to cover a Colles fracture properly. This one wraps the whole forearm.

Cold-cycle wash holds up

Bloody calls cleaned out fine. Half-star off only because the valve is fiddly with thick winter gloves.
